How does it all work?

Ring the helpline.

The Duty Officer will take details and will then enlist the support of a volunteer

The Duty Officer will ring you back when a volunteer has been found

Please give us as much notice as possible --- at least two days notice please --- so that we can find a volunteer.
Is every request satisfied?

We may occasionally have to say "Sorry, no", but we will do our best to recommend another source of help if we cannot find one of our own volunteers. Advice is always at hand.

One place that you can look for help with transport is Bustler Dial-a-Ride.

Please click here for the
Bustler Dial-a-Ride
or ring 01483 724433.
Who can use SWHAH?

Residents of Old Woking, Kingfield, Sutton Green and Westfield who are struggling to cope with everyday tasks --- because of illness, age, disability, or force of circumstances.

Requests can come from the clients themselves or (with the client's permission) from friends and relatives
How are the costs met?

Help is given free of charge but donations towards petrol and running costs are requested.
This will help us to continue the service. We can suggest an appropriate donation linked
to what is involved and the distances of the journey undertaken.
